Smile Just for fun

I have an idea: Let's go to talk about ourselves!

Just for fun means speak about our life, our spend-time or hobbies, our feelings, our dreams.... just for fun!

I love literature, mathematics foreign languages and also the animals like cats. In fact I have 2 pussycats, Pelusa and Matilda.

Agatha Christie and George Simenon are my favorites authors and I also enjoy movies based on their novels.

I would like meet here lot of new friend with which to practice english, so I hope (or should I say expect, wait?) your answer soon.

Have a nice day!

Predeterminado Re: Just for fun

That sounds like fun!

I work at my husband's company, it's a computer services company. I am not coming from this field and I find it fascinating, I've learned a lot and I have tons of more things to learn. My job here is administrative, but I will engage into web design soon.

I am reading "God is not Great and how religion poisons everything" by Christopher Hitchens, I recommend this book, it's pretty good. My next book once I'm done with this one, will be the biography of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz by Octavio Paz.

I love animals, but I don't have any pets; I will for sure have a pair of dogs in a near future. I prefer small dogs, I hate their poop so the smaller the dog the less of its poop. Maybe I'll get a cat, my hubby doesn't like them though, I will have to convince him.

Do you have pictures of your cats?

I paint, that's my hobby, I use Acrylics. I also want to take human drawing classes, I want to make portraits.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Exotica!

Thanks a lot for your answer, I really appreciate.

It's amazing to heard you're interested in Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, perhaps one of the women's lib first member "Hombre necios que acusáis a la mujer sin razón, sin ver que sois la ocasión de lo mismo que culpáis"

But dealing with the book you're reading now, let me recommend you another one: "La **** de Babilonia" de Fernando Vallejo.

I have some pictures of my cats but I don't know where might I put here -remember I'm a new user-, so, if you have an idea, let me know.

Webmaster it's a nice job! Sometimes I work with them like an interface between the client and the webmaster, translating company's needs to a language less complicated for the client and more technical for the master.

That usually happens in websites design: clients don't know how explain their needs and webmasters don't know what the companies really need. The result? awful websites and lots of financial resources lost, even with greats companies! Did you hear about "integrated marketing communications"?

I hint you read my other post about differences ans similarities between work and prison.

Best regards

Predeterminado work or prison?

A pal of mine from Boston sent this paper and I would like to share with you....just for fun!

WORK or PRISON
Just in case you ever got the two mixed up. This should make things a bit clearer.

IN PRISON.. you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.
AT WORK... you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.
IN PRISON...you get three meals a day.
AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.
IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior
AT WORK...you get more work for good behavior

IN PRISON...the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.
IN PRISON...you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON...you get your own toilet.
AT WORK...you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK...you can't even speak to your family.
IN PRISON...the taxpayers pay all expenses with no work required.
AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.
IN PRISON...you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.
IN PRISON...you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK...they are called managers.

Wink Re: Just for fun

Funny! But I don't think that's how prisons from the third world are.

Anyways, I have to learn HTML, I kind of started, just like the basis, I just haven't taken the time to get further.

I will look into the book that you recommend. As a matter of fact, a dear friend of mine recommended me "Memorias de todas mis Putas" de Garcia Marquez. He loved it! He actually read the English version, I bet the Spanish version is better!

Anyways, if you want to post pics here, and your pics are in a website already, not on you pc, you just copy the link and paste it between the icons of "img" located at the top bar of every repost window. It has a tiny pic figure, just click on it, paste the link, click again and voila! If the pics are on you pc you will need an image host web page, you'll find tons of them in the web.

You are so right about customers, most people don't even know the basis about computers or the Internet. This will change with time though, personal computers are still a new product.

Also web customers don't comprehend that every little icon takes time to create, and the prices to build web sites go from 600 to thousands of dollars, depending on the complications, size, content, etc.

In regards of IMC, we do create websites with e-marketing and push it for the SEO to make the page up on the first three links to appear, so we do offer that service as well. Until today we do not sell anything though through our own website, but we do resell Dell computers.

Have a wonderful day.

Love,

What a noble job you have dragonfly, you gotta be a very passionate & loving person!

Are you going to publish your book? What's the topic? What kind of publishing difficulties have you encounter? I find this very interesting.

I met a lady long time ago who in fact had published her poetry book. She told me that it was very hard and kind of difficult to publish it, because it is very expensive (in the States). Also she had to be knocking on doors because she was of course an unknown writer. Once she had it published, then the marketing kicks in. It's not only the money for the printing and all that what she actually had to come about with, but from there she had to keep on knocking doors again to put it on the book shelves to sell it; goal that at the time I met her, she had not accomplished yet.

So I wish you all the success and luck from the bottom of my heart.

You have a full house by the way!

Have a wonderful day.

Jejeje… thanks sweetie.
I love my career; I enjoy a lot spending time with kids. Kids with difficulties teach a lot, every day they leave you a lesson, they used to share with you the real smile and when they love you, you know that it’s for sure. Since about 15 years ago I’ve been working whit teenagers two, and by now just with then, dealing with drugs, homosexually and any kind of emotional problems… and there is a marvelous experience. I work with parents too, as a counselor. I love what I do indeed.

The book I wrote it is about Adolescence, it names “Adolecencia, una guía para seres incomprendidos: los padres”, jejeje. It’s like a guide book, but basing on my experience thru life with then at work and as a mom of tow. Something to make parents understand that you have to work since the cradle so the way thru this phase will be way too easy.
The second book, it’s about DDHA, either way, thru my view as one… jeje. The way this person has to deal with a problem nobody really understands but the one who have it. I haven’t finishing yet, I’m on my way jejeje.
The manuscript of the first one it is in Spain (juju) and I’m waiting for the Editorial answer, but I’m hopeful… really hopeful that the answer will be the best, and sooner I’ll tell you all “my book it’s on the store, go and buy it” jajaja.

About the pets, yes, a full house… but none of then is really mine jeje, so I don’t have to take care of then, my daughter’s doe’s jajaja.
Well my beauty Titanium friend, thanks a lot for you support… really, I do appreciate it a lot.

Have a wonderful day too
Love and kisses
Jud.-

Dears Exotica and Dragonfly

How I feel close to you! Either Exotica and her customers troubles or Dragonfly and her job with people suffering emotional disorders or cognitive damage as Down syndrome (maybe DD... means "autistas?).

Let me tell you more of me, then you'll be able understand me. I'm business engeneer but like a part-time job I began work as part-time teacher at the age of 16.

When I divorced, I had a little girl (1 year old) and 2 months pregnancy, so I have quit the university but I did'nt want a fulltime job, then I worked one more time as part-time teacher.

Suddenly, a very close friend asked me to help him to manage his little company (wooden toys). We got succes, so I was required by another micro-entrepreneurs.

I came back to the university finish my studies (age 34) , but you know what happens all around the world. All new job are for people diplomated, at least 5 years experience at intermediate or top level (desirable in a great company) with age of 35. I was 36 but without experience at this level.

Then, I decide work with micro or little entrepreneurs through out government aid programs. During 1998-2001 I managed an insurance broker bureau. And I never left my part-time teacher job.

I had to be mother and father at the same time with no help/payment from my ex-husband. Do you realize how hard it is? Well, I was so tired, exhausted, and last year I decide to stop. Children are not children anymore (ages 24 & 21) and I wanted be free, so I left everything and reformulated my life.

Now I manage the insurance broker bureau (back again) half-a-day (morning from 9:00 to 14:00) and I work too in adults learning, part-time teacher, business consultant, developping government programs against drugs abuse

All that means I do only what I want to do and makes feel happy.

Well, I hope be in touch with you for a long!

Kisses

Lately I began to work with Reuven Feuerstein's theories about Structural Cognitive Modifiability and Mediated Learning Experience. Did you heard something about?

Also you can visit www.icelp.org for further information.

SIC:

"Instrumental Enrichment program effectively improves thinking and learning skills not only among the culturally different and deprived, but also among high-functioning individuals"
"In the brain-injured and the elderly, Instrumental Enrichment slows down deterioration and may even reverse cognitive damage"

It sound amazing, doesn't it? Well, I expect some comments from you soon

Have a nice day!
